Headline: Stocks rally hard into "Liberation Day" while fear gauge screams danger Teaser: The Fear & Greed Index sits at 8 — Extreme Fear — while equities rip 1%+ across the board. That's not confidence. That's a squeeze, and tomorrow's tariff announcement will decide which side it breaks.

The Big Picture
The market is staging a risk-on rally while every macro underpinning of that rally is quietly deteriorating — and the divergence is getting harder to ignore. Equities are broadly green: S&P 500 +1.07%, Nasdaq 100 +1.65%, tech leading at +2.17% (XLK), crypto piling on with Bitcoin +2.67% and ETH +3.37%. On the surface, it reads like a confidence trade. But gold is simultaneously up 1.91% to $438.51 — that's not a risk-on metal, that's a hedge — and the Dollar Index is sliding to 27.67 (-0.40%) while EUR and GBP both gain against it, which historically signals capital rotating away from U.S. assets, not into them. Energy is getting crushed — XLE down 3.92%, crude off 1.80% to $124.96 — which either means demand destruction fears are building or supply is overwhelming the market; neither reading is bullish for growth. Meanwhile, the CNN Fear & Greed equivalent sits at 8 — Extreme Fear — meaning the same crowd buying tech and Bitcoin today is, in aggregate, terrified. That's not conviction, that's a short-covering bounce dressed up as a rally. The Thursday ISM Services print and Friday's jobs number are the next stress tests: if services activity softens and payrolls disappoint, the dollar slide accelerates, gold confirms its breakout, and this midday green turns into a very ugly close to the week. This is not financial advice.
