The Big Picture
A quiet fade, not a selloff. The S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 and Dow each gave back about 0.3%, with no single catalyst behind it. Money did not leave the market so much as move around inside it: the Russell 2000 added 0.34%, so the pressure was on the megacaps, not stocks broadly. Follow the money and the rotation is clear. Energy jumped 1.25% as crude climbed 1.34%, and utilities gained 1.16%. Those two rarely lead together: one is a bet on higher oil prices, the other is where cash hides.
