The Big Picture
Technology did the heavy lifting and almost nothing else did. The tech sector gained 1.49% and dragged the Nasdaq 100 up 0.73%, while the S&P 500 managed 0.25% and the Dow finished flat at -0.02%. Strip out the chip and software names and the session barely happened. The odd part: gold rose 0.99% and silver 0.87% on the same day stocks climbed. Investors usually pick one or the other. Long bonds slipped a touch, with TLT down 0.10% as 20 year yields ticked up, and the dollar barely moved. Crypto sat it out, Bitcoin down 0.23% at $63,495. Watch the breadth.
