The Big Picture
Nothing broke today, but money moved. The big indices barely budged, S&P 500 down 0.2% and Nasdaq 100 down 0.14%, while the Russell 2000 climbed 0.52%. That gap is the whole story: investors sold a little megacap tech and bought smaller, cheaper, more domestic names. Energy did the heavy lifting, up 1.39% as crude gained 1.26%. The dollar slipped 0.31%, which helped gold add 0.63% and silver 0.55%. Long dated Treasuries fell 0.67%, meaning long term borrowing costs rose even as stocks held flat. The tension: crypto did not join. Bitcoin fell 0.78% to $62,851 and the rest of the majors dropped harder.
