The Big Picture
The real move happened in metals, not stocks. Gold fell 1.58% and silver 1.17%, while the S&P 500 finished essentially unchanged at plus 0.02%. Money walked out of the safe havens and did not pile into anything risky instead. Under that flat surface, a quiet rotation. Technology added 0.61% and energy 0.60%, helped by crude up 0.95% and natural gas up 1.76%. Healthcare lost 1% and pulled the Dow down 0.19%. Long Treasuries slipped 0.20%, meaning yields ticked higher. Crypto split hard: Ethereum up 1.27% to $2,469, XRP down 4.92%. Fear and Greed sits at 55, greed by a hair.
