The Big Picture
Money moved into everything except tech. The Russell 2000 gained 1.18% and the Dow 0.54%, while the Nasdaq 100 managed just 0.23% and the Technology sector finished flat at -0.02%. That is a rotation: buyers took the smaller and cheaper end of the market and left the megacaps alone. Metals tell the other half of the story. Silver rose 1.99% and gold 1.52%, both bid while stocks rose, which is not the usual pairing. Long Treasuries went nowhere, with the 20Y ETF up 0.1%. The dollar index ticked up 0.11% to 99.75, though the yen firmed 0.35% to 159.60. The catch: CNN's Fear and Greed Index sits at 33, still in Fear. A broad rally the crowd does not trust.
