What If?
If you had put $1,000 into Crude Oil yesterday, you'd have $1,027.00 today.
The Big Picture
The long end of the bond market set the tone. TLT, the 20Y Treasury ETF, fell 0.57%, meaning long yields pushed higher, and anything that depends on cheap borrowing got sold. Russell 2000 dropped 1.37%, utilities lost 1.17%, the Dow fell 0.75%. The S&P 500 gave up 0.46% and tech finished flat, so the damage sat in the rate-sensitive corners, not in megacap. Commodities went the other way. Crude oil rose 2.7%, silver added 2.27%, gold gained 0.91%, and the dollar index slipped 0.35% to 98.61. A weaker dollar makes commodities cheaper for foreign buyers, and a commodity bid on top of rising long yields is the inflation trade. Crypto stayed quiet, Bitcoin down 0.36% at $78,247. Fear and Greed sits at 39. Watch whether tech can hold flat if long yields keep climbing.Fear & Greed Index
