Tech drags S&P 500 down 0.21% as a firmer dollar hits metals Healthcare is the only green sector, up 1.51%, while bitcoin climbs 2% against the equity tape.

The Big Picture
Technology is doing the damage. XLK is down 1.17% at midday, and that one sector explains most of the S&P 500's 0.21% slip and the Nasdaq 100's 0.34% drop. The Dow is off 0.14%, the Russell 2000 is unchanged, so the selling is narrow, not broad. Money is moving into healthcare, up 1.51% and the only sector in the green, and into long Treasuries, with TLT up 0.35%. But this is not a full flight to safety. Gold is down 0.89% and silver down 1.1%, because the dollar index is up 0.32% to 99.48 and a stronger dollar makes metals more expensive everywhere else. Crypto ignored all of that.
