The Big Picture
Money moved into crypto today and out of almost everything else. Solana is up 10.8%, Cardano 9.0%, Bitcoin 5.6% to $80,811. Equities went the other way: the S&P 500 is down 0.38%, the Dow 0.62%, the Russell 2000 0.71%. The Nasdaq 100 is the only index green, and barely, at 0.07%. The common thread is the long end of the bond market. TLT, which tracks 20 year Treasuries, fell 0.7%, meaning long yields rose. That hits the parts of the stock market that borrow most: utilities dropped 1.08% and small caps trailed. The dollar firmed 0.36%, and the yen took the brunt, with USD/JPY up 1.41% to 157.89. The odd piece is metals. Silver gained 2.24% and gold 1.12% with the dollar and yields both higher. Watch whether the long end keeps selling.Fear & Greed Index
