If you had put $1,000 into Natural Gas yesterday, you'd have $1,058.50 today.

The Big Picture

Two markets traded today. Technology gained 0.73% and pushed the Nasdaq 100 up 0.81%. Financials fell 1.97%, the worst sector on the board, and that one group was enough to hold the S&P 500 at dead flat, down 0.02%, and knock the Dow down 0.34%. Energy told a similar split. Crude oil fell 2.75% and dragged energy stocks down 1.09%, while natural gas ran 5.85% higher. Metals caught a bid: silver up 1.84%, gold up 0.42%. The dollar index firmed 0.17% to 100.40, which usually caps metals and did not. Crypto leaked, Bitcoin down 0.69% to $86,281, with XRP up 2.82% the exception. Treasuries barely moved, TLT down 0.06%, so the bank selloff is not a rate story. Fear and Greed at 35 says the crowd is already cautious. Watch whether financials find a bid or the tech bid runs out.
