What If?
If you had put $1,000 into Utilities yesterday, you'd have $1,029.80 today.
The Big Picture
Money moved into the safest corners of the stock market and still pushed the index higher. Utilities jumped 2.98% against a 0.55% gain for the S&P 500, and that split usually means buyers want yield rather than growth. Long Treasuries caught a bid too, TLT up 0.22%. The dollar did the rest of the work. The dollar index fell 0.42% to 101.81 and the euro rose 0.58% to 1.1269. That weakness lifted gold 0.72% and silver 0.58%. Natural gas rose 1.8%, the biggest commodity move of the session. The crack is in small caps. The Russell 2000 fell 0.72% while the S&P 500, Dow and Nasdaq 100 all rose. CNN Fear and Greed Index sits at 47, neutral.Fear & Greed Index
