The Big Picture
Money moved out of tech and into things that come out of the ground. Technology fell 1.79% and the Nasdaq 100 dropped 1.34%, enough to pull the S&P 500 down 0.42%. The Dow, with less tech in it, finished up 0.12%. Energy did the opposite, up 2.97% as the crude oil ETF USO rose 2.55%. Financials added 0.89%. That is rotation, not a broad exit: the Russell 2000 closed almost unchanged, down 0.05%. Crypto took the heavier hit. Cardano fell 7.97%, Solana 5.59%, Ethereum 3.94%, and Bitcoin slipped 1.89% to $81,763. Long Treasuries went the other way, with the 20Y ETF TLT up 0.94%.
