The Big Picture
Metals ran the session. Silver's SLV ETF climbed 2.49% and gold's GLD added 1.57%, both helped by a softer dollar: the Dollar Index slipped 0.17% to 102.19. Stocks went along for the ride, with the Dow up 0.87%, the S&P 500 up 0.6% and the Nasdaq 100 up 0.49%. The leadership says something. Healthcare rose 1.58% and utilities 0.83%, two sectors people buy for steady dividends rather than growth, while technology managed only 0.51% and energy fell 0.25%. Financials added 0.92%. Bonds did almost nothing: the 20Y Treasury ETF ticked up 0.14%. Bitcoin rose 0.8% to $82,386. The catch: CNN's Fear and Greed Index sits at 45, still in Fear.
