The Big Picture
Money moved today, it did not leave. The Dow gained 1.02% and the Russell 2000 0.87%, while the Nasdaq 100 slipped 0.34% and the Technology sector dropped 1.00%. The S&P 500 split the difference at 0.26%, dragged by its big tech weighting. Healthcare did the heavy lifting, up 2.39%, with financials up 1.19%. Bonds helped. The 20Y Treasury ETF TLT rose 1.57%, meaning long bond yields fell, which is the usual fuel for small caps and banks. Metals joined in: silver up 2.53%, gold up 1.25%.
