The Big Picture
Money left technology and went almost everywhere else. The Nasdaq 100 slipped 0.1% and the tech sector fell 0.28%, while the Russell 2000 small-cap index jumped 1.66% and the Dow gained 1.05%. The S&P 500 managed 0.34%, dragged by its heavy tech weighting. Healthcare did the real work, up 2.37%. The buying was not picky. Utilities rose 1.26% and financials 1.2%, two groups that rarely lead together. Long-dated Treasuries rallied, with TLT up 0.84%, so bond buyers showed up too. Gold fell 0.54% while silver rose 1.13%. Crypto followed stocks higher, Bitcoin up 0.94% to $82,716. The tension: CNN's Fear and Greed Index sits at 27, still Fear.
